The Tree Limb
Aug 6th, 2007 | By Mable | Category: Just Weird, WarningsRecently our area was hit by a hurricane. The next day we were standing outside surveying the damage to our many tall trees. It was still storming and windy. Tree tops dangled but there was no structural damage to our home. We were very thankful. I stepped out from the shelter of the carport to get a better look at the angry sky and continued to stand there for several minutes. My husband looked at me and said, “You need to get back under this carport. I’d hate for one of those tree limbs to fall and knock you in the head.” I thought my husband was being a little overprotective, but being a wife who believes in honoring her husband, I immediately moved under the carport. I had been there no longer than 30 seconds when a very large limb fell from a nearby tree. It came so close to me that the end of it actually brushed against the back of my head and down my back as it fell. I sure was glad I did as my husband asked.
[...] PS - I’ve heard people talk about places on earth where it is easier to hear from God, open heavens they’re called. Seems there were places like that in the Bible also. I realized there were two times something significant happened at exactly, or within five feet, of each other at my home. Once was this event and later, my husband told me to step under the carport before a tree branch fell on me. I stepped into the carport and within a minute a branch fell.
