A friend of mine came over. She was walking through my house, looking at my stuff. Not saying my stuff is that great, but she seemed to be maybe jealous? Or envious? I had a plate sitting on a high shelf over a doorway. I really loved the plate. It had a picture of a colonial man and woman holding hands as they walked. Nothing fancy, came from a flea market, but it was one of my favorite things. She commented on the plate, asked where I got it, and walked on. After she went through the doorway, the plate came crashing down and shattered into many pieces.

She is very tall and I asked her if she touched the plate. She said, no, not with her hand. I’m not trying to read anything into this and I want you to draw your own conclusions but I will say the plate I replaced it with has remained in place for 7 years and never moved. Maybe it was some of those quarks the astrophysicists talk about.
