A Bulldog and the Safety Dome
Sep 3rd, 2007 | By butterfly | Category: Dark, DemonsAs a born again Christian, I believe that God protects me from the power of the enemy. I don’t have to understand how, but the Word says that he will be my “rear guard”. I also believe God speaks through dreams, visions and supernatural events of the Holy Spirit.
Anyway, one night while I was a single mom, my child and I were asleep in my bed. I had been praying and had recently been baptized in the Holy Spirit. Having been raised in a denominational church, I did not know much about the phrases and vocabulary of the spirit-filled church, or the common prayers and rebukes used by the members.
Anyway, while I was sleeping I became sharply aware that something was moving out of my closet swiftly and coming toward my bed. It was as if it had come from another room through the wall. I could suddenly see it! I was positioned on the bed with my back to the closet, and facing my child who was sound asleep.
This creature had the size and appearance of a brindle colored English bulldog. It’s little short legs were furiously running through the air and its lips were pulled up tightly over its teeth, exposing them. Obviously, its intentions were not holy and it was going to attack me! I immediately said aloud, “I rebuke you, Satan, in the name of Jesus!”
The instant I said that, it was like a clear dome fell over my bed. You know the kind of dome that you see over gold French Provincial clocks? Almost simultaneously, I felt a hard bump against that side of my bed. I had not jumped and my bed actually moved from the force. The demon dog ran screeching from my room with its deformed tailed tucked between its hind legs. Wide awake, I turned over, readjusted my covers and went back to sleep. I was not afraid at any time and I have never seen it again.
Now you may say it was just a dream and that I have a vivid imagination…which I do. But, there is more to this story. At that time in my life, I had NEVER HEARD the phrase: I rebuke you , Satan, in Jesus name. If the Holy Spirit had not intervened for me, I am sure the outcome would have at least been different, and who knows what evil may have affected our lives. Thank God for this kind of weird “super” natural blessing!

Hello Butterfly,
I also had a supernatural experience with dogs. For some reason, I began studying the occult. I don’t remember if I pulled books from the library shelves at random or how it all began. I became obsessed with learning as much as I could about witchcraft and pagan practices. Then I went to see “The Omenâ€. I knew a lot about the book of Revelation, and that movie scared me. When I walked out I thought, I’ll never be the same again.
One night I was laying in bed, stoned on something, and thinking about how horrible my life was and seeing no way out. As I stared at the white, barren walls they began to form bars. Then somehow, big black dogs came through those prison bars toward me. I was scared beyond words.
I kept my Bible beside my bed, keep in mind I wasn’t a Christian. Somewhere along the way I had heard that if you said the name of Jesus, demons couldn’t enter you so I put the Bible on my chest and said “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus†over and over until somehow the dogs and the bars disappeared.
The next day or so I found that scripture in I Timothy were God says He has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I knew I did not have a sound mind and that scripture became a lifeline on my way back to sanity.
