Cowboy Creature

Then I heard footsteps coming to the bedroom. I thought it was my son coming in to have breakfast, just like he did every morning. Then I felt a presence that made me pull my grandson to me. I could not look up, I just started saying, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus”. A few moments later I heard the footsteps leaving the bedroom and heard the front door open and close. A few minutes later I told myself, “This is silly, that was my son leaving”. I jumped up and ran to the front door. The door was locked. Opening the door, I looked outside and called my son’s name. There was nothing: no person, no car. I felt a heaviness, and I went back to bed and put my arms around my grandson. I told my pastor about the incident. After weeks of prayer, he told me he saw a tall man, with a black hat (like cowboys wear), and this thing had a long black coat. My pastor asked about my ancestors, and I told him all of my ancestors were tall and thin.
Several months later my 35 year old nephew, who was having a lot of trouble with drugs, needed a place to stay. No one wanted him, so my husband and I told him he could come home with us. One day, he and I were talking, and I told him of the experience with the dark spirit. I described the spirit to him. He got a horrible look on his face and almost started crying. He said, “Auntie, that is exactly what I saw when I was about six years old. It happened when we lived next door to PawPaw. We were playing with the Ouija Board one day in our kitchen. I looked up and standing in the doorway was this person you described. He stood and stared at me with piercing red eyes. I got so scared and my momma thought I was making it up. Oh! Auntie, that was the scariest thing and it’s exactly what you described coming into your house.”
This happened about ten years ago but just last year my elderly aunt who lives nearby told this story:
While she was sleeping, this same thing awakened her, staring at her. All she could say was “Oh! Oh! Oh!” It stood over her bed, and she closed her eyes to pray. When she opened her eyes, it was gone. A few days later she was taking her daily walk when a vehicle passed her, stopped, and backed up. This thing, she couldn’t tell if it was male or female, asked, “How are you today?” Aunt Mae said, “Ok”. She said she was scared and just wanted to get home. This thing said, “I think of you often. I come through here and I wanted to see you. I’m doing good and I have to go.” And then, “It was good to see you”. After that, she walked as fast as she could back to her house. Aunt Mae said it had the same fiery eyes as the thing that was standing over her bed that night.

That was more than I would want to encounter! As scary as it was these frightful encounters of similarity are told on late night radio very often. The explanations by experts are very strange.
The guests on Coast to Coast AM and Open Line callers mention this remedy to say to a shadowy figure, “In the name of Jesus, go away!” You said his name and that always works.
The vehicle with the strange driver who talked to your aunt is never mentioned. That I am aware of anyway. A big hat and a long black cloak is mentioned alot.
That’s not for me and I’ve never experienced what you describe.

Comment # 2, if that’s OK here. butterfly, on Coast to Coast AM last night an 18 year old male called in with a long story. He said he had stage 4 cancer. He had much to say and the host kept him over the break.
When I came back to the Friday Night Open Line again. There he was finishing his experience with what turned out to be a shadow visitor in his room.
It was a scare and he made it leave by saying, “In the name of Jesus Christ the Savior, go away now!”
They are magical words that work everytime, and he knew what to say.
That was on the air worldwide on the Net and US radio just 3 hours ago. Take those words to heart just in case a shadowy visitor comes again as footsteps or as a dark entity in your unlit bedroom.
You said the right words and maybe you knew that all along.

Response to the Cowboy Creature: The description so resembles what I saw back in 1976. My parents had a farm out in southern Indiana, wooded and sat at least a third of a mile off the road. One summer day I was waxing my car, and my parents were down in the back 40 cutting trees. It was an all wooded area off to all sides of the house and barn. I looked towards the horses and saw this tall, older looking stranger wearing a long black trench coat and big brim black hat. I looked towards Mom and Dad. They were looking at him also. He was just standing there by the wooded area next to the barn. We no more than looked away and then back at him, and he was gone. Later on that year I was trapping in those woods and ran across an old grave stone from the late 1800s!!!

An Open Lines caller Friday night on Coast to Coast AM talked to the host about this very topic. Hat wearing spooks with long black coats. The one he saw looked exactly like the “Neighborhood Watch” sign’s bad guy in black. They mentioned cowboy hats and fedoras like Indiana Jones, only in black as part of the shadowy figure. Not for me!
The host says they are interdimensional everytime the subject comes up. That’s nearly every show!
