I Can Hear Her
Jan 5th, 2008 | By sugarcaine | Category: Just WeirdMy oldest daughter, Korinne, was born when I was 18. When she was about 16, I started hearing her call my name whenever she really wanted me. The weird thing was, she wasn’t anywhere near me when I would hear her. It sounded loud and clear, just as if she was standing right behind me and saying “MOM” in my ear.
One night, I woke up and rolled over, fully expecting to see my daughter standing there because I had heard her call my name and it woke me up. She wasn’t there. I went upstairs to check on her and found her sobbing, wishing she could come wake me up to talk to me but she didn’t because she was afraid her stepdad would get mad.
In another instance, we were at the mall, and she was back trying on clothes while I looked through the racks up front. I distinctly heard her say “MOM” right behind me but when I turned around, she wasn’t there. I went back to the dressing rooms and asked her what she wanted. She had wanted me to come and look at the clothes as she tried them on.
Another time, I heard her giggling when I opened the refrigerator and found that she and her friend had taken my last two beers after I told her she could not have them. I went to find her only to discover that she and her friend had already left in her car.
There have been several more instances of hearing her say “MOM”.
