One day I was rushing around trying to get out the door for an all day trip out of town. It was almost a two hour drive to where I was going, and I was running late. I had gotten up early, cooked my breakfast, but somehow, had been sidetracked and was behind. As I rushed out the door, something stopped me. I remembered that I had not stopped and done that “God check” I try to do every morning before I leave home. I asked God, my spiritual guide, “Have I forgotten anything”? Something (or someone) prompted me to walk toward the kitchen. When I rounded the corner, I noticed the skillet I had cooked my eggs in still on the burner. But I also noticed the fire was on underneath! I cook my eggs on a very low fire because I’m usually multi-tasking and tend to burn things. The flame was barely noticeable.

Now, I don’t know what would have happened had I left that flame burning underneath that skillet all day, but I do know this: I’m glad I never found out!
